Barbara Ellen McDevitt, MD
Pediatrics
I am a pediatrician who specializes in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and then returned to General Pediatrics, currently practicing at AHS Pediatrics in Morristown, New Jersey.
Throughout my career, I’ve held numerous leadership roles, including Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at St. Barnabas Medical Center and Associate Director at Morristown Memorial Hospital.
I’ve also served as Chief Pediatric Officer at Superior Insurance Company and chaired the Section on Pediatric Emergency Medicine for the New Jersey American College of Emergency Physicians.
I completed a medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from Bryn Mawr College.
My postgraduate training includes a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Children’s National Medical Center and a Chief Residency at Georgetown University Medical Center.
Board certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine, I’ve been recognized for my excellence in patient care, receiving the “Excellence in Caring” award and the Saint Barnabas Health Care System Award for Patient Satisfaction and Performance Improvement.
I’ve contributed to the field through original publications on neonatal feeding difficulties and thoracic trauma and have been an invited speaker at numerous professional conferences.
Throughout my career, I’ve been dedicated to quality improvement, education, and the development of clinical guidelines. But my most significant part of my career is my love of providing care to my patients and their parents.
